Questions
The fine print, in plain words
Is the $0-down website plan really $0 today?
Yes. Tenon takes no payment to start. The homepage mockup is free, and the first $89 is charged only when you approve the design and begin the plan. There is no deposit and no setup fee.
What does the $89 a month include?
The $89 a month covers the complete Growth website, up to six pages, plus hosting, SSL, daily backups, security monitoring and unlimited small edits to text, prices, hours, photos and menu items. New pages or a redesign are quoted separately.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
There is a six-month minimum. After the sixth month the plan runs month to month and you can cancel any time. Ownership of the site transfers to you at month 12.
What happens at month 12?
At month 12 the website, the domain and all of its content become fully yours. You can keep hosting with Tenon for $29 a month, which includes 30 minutes of edits each month, or take the site to any host you like.
What if I cancel after six months but before month 12?
You can cancel any time after the sixth month. Because ownership transfers at month 12, a site cancelled before then does not transfer automatically. Talk to Tenon before cancelling and we will agree the fairest way to hand it over.
Is $0 down more expensive than paying upfront?
Over the first year, yes, by about $150. Paying upfront costs $599 for the Growth site plus $29 a month for Hosting and Care with the first month free, which is $918 in year one. The $0-down plan is $89 a month, which is $1,068 in year one, and it includes unlimited small edits instead of 30 minutes a month. You are paying a little more to keep your cash today.
Do I own the domain name?
Yes. The Growth website includes a free .com domain for the first year, registered in your name from the start. At month 12 everything transfers to you.
Can I get the $0-down plan for a one-page Launch site?
The $0-down plan is built around the Growth website, because that is the plan with the pages, integrations and local SEO that a monthly price needs to justify. A one-page Launch site is $299 one time.
